New Year’s Eve Singles: Why is your Ring-Finger empty?

by nyedash on Dec.08, 2009, under Uncategorized

singles-new-years-eveContrary to the befuddled prevalent credence, the shrewd profuse and unadulterated overage of the pick-up line gamut will not be warranted during this New York New Years Eve festivities and from now on for that matter.  It’s going to be 2010! Instead, gentlemen; attend a well-populated event, keep your mouth shut, the drinks coming and everything else will fall in place like a set of dominoes in a preschool.

The nice guy doesn’t always finish last, in this day and age, the creep does. So this year, the approach for you empty-ring-fingered chaps to cajole that archetype of the other gender which u have so lucidly generated in your imagination is to converge your impulse for her into your knack for having fun and celebrating, ultimately this marks the end and the beginning of so much and enjoying it will only facilitate the core of your social motivation.

Focus on fun, and FUN, you will have. Staying pre-occupied all night with a vision that you have prematurely engraved in your brain as something that must happen is the loyal route to a surplus of wholesome disappointment and failure.

DO’s:
-Wear a collared shirt and a smile
-Drink Champagne (out of a flute glass, not the bottle)
-Keep your shoes tied
-Share
-Find a nice party on New Years NYC

DON’T’s:
-Miss your mouth at dinner time
-Wear too much cologne or exhibit chest hair
-Start drinking alcohol before 5:30pm
-Say “Give me”

Kiss on New Years Eve

by nyedash on Nov.30, 2009, under Relationships

New Years Eve KissThe tradition of kissing at the stroke of midnight on the first day of the Gregorian calendar is a conventional ritual for bringing in the New Year and celebrating the past year.  Historically, the custom was practiced during the festivities of the ancient Romans at the merry and joyous celebration called the Festival of Saturnalia and has continued to subsist in our present day societal salutations. Historians also note that the English and Germans would mask themselves during this celebration, representing the evil spirits of the elapsed year, and when unveiled an ensuing kiss would denote the eradication and subsequent purification commemorating the New Year. Digressing, tradition and superstition adopted by contemporary culture becomes effortlessly adhered to and nonetheless embraced. So with promising resolutions in mind, the remembrance of the preceding year, grandiose pyrotechnics in the background and the standard Scottish melody of Robert Burns enveloping the climax of your night, don’t overlook the prolific midnight kiss. Mwah! Happy New Year NYC!
